Every HostingSutra shared and WordPress hosting account is backed up daily. Backups are stored off the live server.
What is covered
- Website files in your home directory
- MySQL / MariaDB databases
- Email accounts and stored mail
- cPanel settings, cron jobs and DNS zones
Restoring from cPanel
- Log in to cPanel and open the Backup or Backup Wizard tool (or JetBackup if it is available on your server).
- Choose what to restore — full account, home directory, a single database, or an email account.
- Pick a restore point and confirm.
A restore overwrites current data with the backup copy. If you are unsure, download the backup first and inspect it before restoring.
Taking your own backup
In cPanel, open Backup → Download a Full Account Backup. The archive is generated in the background and a download link is emailed to you. Do this before any major change: a theme switch, a plugin update, a PHP version change, or a migration.
Need us to restore it?
Open a ticket telling us the domain, exactly what needs restoring, and the date to restore from. Be specific — "restore only the database as of yesterday morning" is far safer than "restore everything".
Important
Server backups are a safety net, not a substitute for your own backups. Keep an independent copy of anything you cannot afford to lose, especially before you experiment.
